Let It Be: The Musical, launches in Liverpool
Monday night saw Let It Be: The Musical come to Liverpool for the first time. Let It Be is a spectacular theatrical concert jam-packed with forty of The Beatles’ greatest hits! The show allows you to relive The Beatles’ meteoric rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the heights of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces with live performances of early tracks.
To mark the event, we invited friends and family of The Beatles and key players in the Beatles industry to the launch night. Julia Baird (pictured above), Freda Kelly and members of The Quarrymen (pictured below) all attended the event and were greeted by our manager, Martin King (pictured above and below). Julia Baird, who is John Lennon's sister, narrates the audio guide that guides you around the Beatles Story exhibition.
As well as friends and family of The Beatles some Liverpool VIPs attended the event including Lord Mayor Gary Millar (pictured below) and Everton and England football player, Leighton Baines.
Martin King from the Beatles Story said, “Beatles industry insiders were invited to the Liverpool premiere of Let It Be. We were all on our feet, singing and dancing a testimony to the show and the lasting power of The Beatles.”
Let It Be runs at the Liverpool Empire until April 12th, with the cast playing on the same stage where The Beatles performed on five occasions in the 1960s.
