The Albert Dock celebrates 25 years of regeneration this weekend

The Albert Dock celebrates a landmark 25 years of regeneration with a jam-packed weekend of family activities to mark the momentous day it rose from the ashes back in 1988. On 1st and 2nd June join in a weekend of free, family fun and entertainment, with street theatre from Hope Street, choirs, face painting, live music and special "kids go free" dining offers across the Dock.

Highlights:

Saturday 1 June (12-5pm)

  • The Merseycats will be performing Merseybeat tunes and Beatles classics live in Anchor Courtyard.
  • There'll be free face painting on the Colonnades.
  • The Mersey Harmony Choir will be performing in Mermaid Courtyard (next to Tate Liverpool).
  • Meet Calvos, the amazing and graceful stilt-walker and crystal ball performer.
  • Hope Street Theatre will be performing across the Dock.

Sunday 2 June (12-5pm)

  • The Merseycats will be performing Merseybeat tunes and Beatles classics live in Anchor Courtyard.
  • There'll be FREE face painting on the Colonnades.
  • There will be choirs and street theatre in Mermaid Courtyard (next to Tate Liverpool).
  • Meet Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the Octonauts (appearing at intervals) outside Merseyside Maritime Museum.
  • Hope Street Theatre will be performing across the Dock.

Visitor attractions:

  • The Beatles Story will be running free family workshops, while kids will get free entry when accompanied by a full paying adult.
  • Tate Liverpool will be drawing on its own silver anniversary to let children get creative in a special workshop running from 27 May.
  • A free events programme will entertain your little sailors over at the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
  • The Yellow Duckmarine will be giving away a free rubber duck to every child on its popular city tour.

Food and drink:

The Albert Dock's many restaurants have a range of special food and drink offers for you to try.

  • The Pump House will be serving a specially named "Albert Dock Anniversary Ale" for the birthday weekend.
  • What’s Cooking?, PanAm Bar and Restaurant and the Blue Bar and Grill will be offering a “kids eat free” deal for every child dining with a paying adult.
  • Gusto will offer a free, kids-friendly “Bambini Bellini” cocktail with every meal on the children’s menu.
  • For those with a sweet tooth, Quay Confectionery, the Albert Dock’s popular sweet shop will be giving away a free lollipop to every child.
